In September 2022, Lane Bess, former Palo Alto Networks CEO and Zscaler COO, became the CEO of Deep Instinct. He is an early Deep Instinct investor and was its Executive Chair of the Board. Mr. Bess has spent over 30 years as an operational executive and successfully launched start-ups and grown medium-sized businesses to large scale. Between 2008 and 2011, Bess was CEO of Palo Alto Networks where he led the late fundraising and scaled the company from its early go-to-market to a revenue run rate exceeding $200 million on path to its IPO. Prior to Palo Alto Networks, he served as the EVP of Worldwide Sales and General Manager of publicly traded Trend Micro Inc. (Nikkei) – growing worldwide revenues to over $1 billion annually. He has extensive experience in building technology businesses in Europe, Asia Pacific, and Japan as well as other international regions. His considerable work in the security technology sector has made him a trusted advisor for many enterprise CIOs and CISOs.
Guy Caspi is Deep Instinct’s founder and former CEO (2015-2022). In September 2022, Mr. Caspi was nominated as Chairman of the Board and Chief Alliance Officer. Mr. Caspi is a seasoned CEO and serial entrepreneur with more than two decades of enterprise technology experience in executive C-suite positions. His vision and leadership have helped guide organizations to meet growth and revenue targets in several stages of maturity, from early startup through post-IPO. Caspi is a thought leader with deep domain expertise in deep learning and AI assimilation in cybersecurity and was selected as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in 2017. Additionally, he was nominated in 2018 as a board member of the prestigious Forbes Technology Council in 2018. He holds a master’s degree from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Global Executive Program from the joint MIT Sloan Business School / Israeli Technion Institute.
Ms. Bellini was formerly a managing director and partner at Goldman Sachs, leading its Technology Research Group. Bellini led the research diligence and investor education IPO process for over 20 companies with their initial public offerings, including Atlassian, Crowdstrike, Dropbox, Facebook, MongoDB, Slack Technologies, VMware and Zoom Video Communications. She was named to the inaugural Barron’s 100 Most Influential Women in Finance in 2020, is a founding member of the Women’s Circle at Columbia Business School, and a member of the steering committee for the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute at Cornell Tech.
Mr. Shopp brings more than 20 years of marketing and security expertise. He previously built and led global teams as a marketing executive for AppDynamics and New Relic leading up to a successful acquisition & IPO and further scaling. Prior to that, he served as the VP & CMO of CA Technologies EMEA based out of Switzerland. He is a seasoned executive in the IT & Security Operations domain with vast experience spanning product marketing, demand generation and product management. Shopp is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University earning a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Mr. Froggett has a proven track record in building teams, systems architecture, large scale enterprise software implementation, as well as aligning processes and tools with business requirements. Froggett was formerly Head of Global Infrastructure Defense, CISO Cyber Security Services at Citi. In his previous role, Carl was responsible for delivering integrated risk reduction capabilities and services aligned to the architectural, business, and CISO priorities across Citi’s devices and networks in 100+ countries. Since 1998, he has held various regional and global roles for Citi, covering all aspects of architecture, engineering, global operations, as well as running critical enterprise cyber services for Citi’s cybersecurity functions. Froggett holds CISSP and CISM security certifications and a B.S. (Hons) in Computer Science from Loughborough University, UK.
Mr. Plawner is a visionary senior professional services and customer success executive with a passion for delivering solutions that are designed to help both organizations and customers win. Prior to joining Deep Instinct, Plawner served as VP of Professionals Services and Customer Success at Varonis where he led a large-scale transformation of the data security and analytics company’s professional services organization. Plawner holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
Mr. Fishman is a seasoned product management executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across notable global B2B brands. Fishman has held several prominent roles, including leadership positions with Microsoft where he led the Cloud App Security product portfolio and initiated the MSSP and security partner program, and Head of Product Management, Cloud Security & IoT Security at CheckPoint. He holds a B.Sc in Information Systems Engineering from Ben Gurion University and an MBA from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
Mr. Oren is a cyber security expert with experience in research and operations, both offensive and defensive. Prior to joining Deep Instinct in 2016 Oren served for 14 years as an officer in the IDF’s elite cyber unit 8200. Oren’s background includes a wide range of cyber security and research positions, where he managed multifunctional teams of hackers, researchers and engineers. Oren led the development of new methods and tools for the analysis of cyber-campaigns, as well as a series of innovative cyber intelligence collection capabilities. Over the years of has worked extensively with a variety of industry, defense, and intelligence partners and agencies in North America and Europe. He is a recipient of the President of Israel Award for Outstanding Military Service, holds a B.Sc (Magna Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from Ben Gurion University and MBA (Cum Laude) in Finance and Accounting from Tel Aviv University.
