Pioneer in Deep Learning Cybersecurity, Deep Instinct Adds Board Advisors Mark Anderson and John Spiliotis as Growth Accelerates and Company Expands Worldwide

NEW YORK, November 19, 2020 – Deep Instinct, the first and only cybersecurity company to apply end-to-end deep learning to predict, identify, and prevent cyberattacks, today announced that Mark Anderson and John Spiliotis have been appointed advisors to its Board of Directors.

Anderson is currently CEO of Alteryx and was previously president of Palo Alto Networks, which he joined prior to it becoming a publicly-traded company.

Spiliotis has extensive experience in sales leadership, partner and channel strategy, and enterprise technology operations including his role as senior vice president at Palo Alto Networks and sales leadership positions at Cisco, Avaya, and Ericsson.

In their years working together at Palo Alto Networks, Anderson and Spiliotis were very successful in driving hypergrowth as the company experienced 10 times sales growth.

“Mark and John are both Silicon Valley veterans with impressive accomplishments in senior leadership positions at high-growth, pre-and post-IPO technology companies. We are excited to have them join our mission to build an enduring company that continues to transform cybersecurity with deep learning technology,” said Guy Caspi, CEO, and co-founder of Deep Instinct. “This year, we have experienced accelerated revenue growth and are on track to more than double our annual recurring revenue (ARR) from 2019.”

Deployments of Deep Instinct software have increased by nearly 400 percent year-over-year, making it one of the fastest-growing next-generation endpoint security products – one of the world’s largest next-generation endpoint protection programs on one system.

“Mark and John provide additional depth to our leadership given their experience with fast-growth companies and we look forward to their perspective and insights helping to guide our path forward,” said Lane Bess, chairman of the board, Deep Instinct.

“I welcome the challenge of helping Deep Instinct realize its goals and continuing on its impressive growth track,” said Mark Anderson. “It’s a great team and I’m happy to be part of it. The company is leading the way in transitioning the approach of cybersecurity to the prevention of attacks before they are executed as opposed to the traditional mindset of detection and response, which is simply inadequate today.”

“It’s an honor to join with Mark and the entire Deep Instinct organization as it builds out worldwide working across all sales channels to deliver its deep learning cybersecurity technology to enterprises seeking to protect themselves from seemingly endless attacks,” said John Spiliotis.

To support its worldwide market growth, last month the company announced the creation of a Japanese subsidiary to serve the Asia-Pacific region and the appointment of country manager Toshihiro Namiki. In August, it announced an office opening in the U.K. and the appointment of Brooks Wallace as vice president of sales, EMEA.

About Deep Instinct

Deep Instinct is the first and only company applying end-to-end deep learning to cybersecurity. Deep learning is inspired by the brain’s ability to learn. Once a brain learns to identify an object, its identification becomes second nature. Similarly, as Deep Instinct’s artificial deep neural network brain learns to prevent any type of cyber threat, its prediction capabilities become instinctive. As a result, any kind of malware, known and new, first-seen malware, zero-days, ransomware, and APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) attacks from any kind are predicted and prevented in zero-time with unmatched accuracy and speed anywhere in the enterprise – network, endpoint, mobile – enabling multi-layered protection.
